About
More than 100 independent communicators in Toronto who are members of the International Association of Business Communicators are part of a group called the Professional Independent Communicators (PIC).
Formed in 1998 as the Alliance of Independent Practitioners, PICs’ mission is to support independent IABC Toronto communicators through professional development, networking and marketing. Our mandate is:
- To provide a forum for entrepreneurial communicators to share common issues, concerns and ideas of interest.
- To position IABC independent practitioners as ‘top of mind’ among IABC corporate members looking for communications help.
- To generate referrals among PIC members.
We connect our membership through monthly interactive educational/networking sessions and a monthly e-newsletter, PIC Buzz. PIC members also enjoy online job leads and an advertising discount in IABC Toronto’s online ‘Marketplace’ where IABC members can learn more about the skills and expertise our members offer as independent practitioners.
If you are a member of IABC Toronto and you are either an independent
practitioner or you have an interest in launching an independent practice,
you can join PIC free of charge.
